UI/UX Projects ['23–'24]

In 2023, I led efforts to optimize shop performance across our platform, reducing average page load times through strategic design and UX improvements.

Improved Platform Web Vital Statistics

Future-proofing our Code

In 2023, I spearheaded a cross-functional performance optimization program to boost Google Core Web Vitals across our custom e-commerce platform hosting 5,000+ storefronts. I kicked off the effort with a data-driven audit using Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights and Semrush, to baseline key metrics like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) and First Input Delay (FID), and to pinpoint the primary bottlenecks.

Partnering closely with our engineering team, I championed the rollout of Akamai's image management for dynamic compression and responsive sizing, and introduced CSS-based lazy–loading for below–the–fold assets. These targeted adjustments slashed LCP and reduced layout shifts, dramatically improving perceived load speed and visual stability.

To embed performance into our delivery process, I integrated automated Core Web Vitals checks into our CI/CD pipeline, ensuring every new feature passed strict performance gates before release. Working alongside our Merchandising Project Manager, we then designed controlled tests to measure the impact on conversion rates, session duration, navigability and user behavior through the sales funnel. The result was a measurable uplift in our average Core Web Vitals scores, leading to stronger engagement, lower bounce rates and a noticeably smoother shopping experience for our clients.

In 2024, I led a team initiative to align 5,000+ hosted sites with WCAG standards, strengthening accessibility and inclusive user experience at scale.

WCAG Web Accessibility Application Compliance

Championing Inclusive Design at Scale

My 2024 strategy involved spearheading a cross-functional accessibility overhaul for our custom e-commerce platform, spanning 5,000+ storefronts across the U.S. and Canada, to achieve WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. Beginning with a comprehensive audit that revealed a 67% average compliance rate, I collaborated with design leads, engineers, and QA to prioritize remediation of high-impact issues. By updating our design system with accessible UI components, refining semantic markup, and ensuring keyboard and screen-reader support, we rapidly drove our compliance score above 90%.

To make accessibility part of our DNA, I integrated automated a11y testing (using tools like Axe and Lighthouse) directly into our CI/CD pipeline and established manual audit checkpoints in each sprint. I also rolled out team training sessions and maintained an accessibility playbook, which empowered product managers, developers, and designers to spot and fix issues early.

As a result, our enhanced workflow not only delivered more inclusive storefronts and improved usability for customers with disabilities, but also reduced rework, shortened release cycles, and positioned our platform as a market leader in equitable digital experiences.
